Yossi Benayoun "disappointed" by West Ham United chants

West Ham United midfielder Yossi Benayoun admits that he is disappointed by a section of club's supporters signing anti-Semitic songs.

Yossi Benayoun has expressed his disappointment after learning that a section of West Ham United supporters aimed anti-Semitic chants towards their Tottenham Hotspur counterparts yesterday afternoon.

Voice and video recordings from White Hart Lane appear to highlight a number of fans singing racist songs towards Tottenham's Jewish following.

The Hammers have since reacted by banning one supporter for life.

Despite admitting that he felt "disappointed" by the revelations, Benayoun has urged people to remember that it is only "a minority group" that are guilty.

"I have a great relationship with the West Ham United supporters," the Irsaeli wrote on Twitter. "From my first spell at the club and again now I am back on loan here this why I was very disappointed to hear some of the songs yesterday and it was embarrassing.

"But we need to remember that it was made by a minority group of fans and I'm sure the fa together with West Ham United football club will do everything to find and punish them."

The match ended in a 3-1 victory to hosting Spurs.
