The Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) has claimed that a successful legacy for the Olympic Stadium is not reliant on a football club.
West Ham United are aiming to move to the stadium after the completion of the Olympic games next year but the OPLC insists the deal is not definitely needed.
Andrew Altman, chief executive of the OPLC, said: "We welcome football but it's not solely dependent on football.
"There are other combinations of other sports, concerts and activities that can also provide revenue."
The future use of the Olympic Stadium has seen Tottenham Hotspur and the Hammers locked in a legal battle for the right to move in to the Stratford-based venue.
The OPLC are yet to agree a deal with anyone for the use of the stadium and will continue to seek new tenants leading up to next summer's games.
