Carlton Cole happy to stay at West Ham United

West Ham United striker Carlton Cole wants Sam Allardyce's future to be resolved soon so that he can make his own plans for next season.

West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has expressed hope that Sam Allardyce's future is resolved soon so that he can make plans for next season.

Hammers boss Allardyce will be out of contract at Upton Park this summer and it appears that the club's hierarchy will not offer him a new deal.

Cole, who almost joined West Bromwich Albion in January, has conceded that his nine-year stay at West Ham could come to a end.

"I haven't spoken to the manager about the future," the 31-year-old told the London Evening Standard. "It's difficult because the manager doesn't know about his own future yet.

"Whether I'm here or somewhere else though, I will always give 100%. I would like to stay of course but we'll see how things go. I've been here a long time. I have a connection with the fans and all the backroom staff. You could say I'm part of the furniture.

"If I'm not still here next season though, I would like to wish the club good luck. As for me, I will carry on with my life."

Cole has scored three goals in 25 appearances for West Ham this season.
