Sam Allardyce happy with West Ham United record

Allardyce shrugs off pressure

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has insisted that he is not concerned about being in the spotlight ahead of an uncertain summer.

The Hammers have put off contract talks until the end of the campaign, and a number of coaches have already been linked with moves to Upton Park, but Allardyce believes that he can be proud of the job he has done this season.

"Have we got a better team? Yes. And is it younger? Yes. Does it create more entertainment? Yes," he told reporters.

"We are already planning for next season. But when you don't get results, criticism comes your way. Everybody has got short memories. It is my job to remind everybody how well we've played.

"You have to keep a cool head and my line from a very young age has always been that the manager's job is to manage the madness."

West Ham, who currently occupy ninth spot, host Stoke City on Saturday.
