Sam Allardyce: 'Sir Alex Ferguson is right to release new autobiography'

Allardyce: 'Ferguson right to release book'

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce believes that Sir Alex Ferguson has released his new autobiography at the "right time".

The Scotsman has come under some criticism for lifting the lid on his bust-ups with former players, including Roy Keane, who has since accused Ferguson of being disloyal.

"If you're going to put it all down on paper, you might as well tell the whole truth and that is exactly what Sir Alex Ferguson appears to have done in his autobiography," Allardyce wrote in the London Evening Standard.

"Now is the right time for a book of this sort. If you want to tell the truth you need to do it when you're finished otherwise you have to hold a few things back."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has criticised Ferguson for his views on Reds midfielders Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson.
