Half-Time Report: Leicester City in control against West Ham United

Leicester City take a 2-0 lead into the break in their Premier League match against West Ham United at Upton Park.

Leicester City have opened up a 2-0 lead over West Ham United at Upton Park as Claudio Ranieri's side look to make it back-to-back wins at the start of the new Premier League season.

The home side made the brighter start to the match as Dimitri Payet tried to fire a free kick in for West Ham, but was unable to test Kasper Schmeichel in the Leicester goal.

West Ham continued to look the more likely as Payet and Carl Jenkinson linked up, resulting in the on-loan Arsenal man getting a shot away, but his finish flew well high of the crossbar.

Despite the hosts' early dominance, it was Leicester who opened the scoring when Jamie Vardy floated the ball in for Shinji Okazaki, who saw his first effort parried by Adrian, before heading home the rebound.

The Foxes started to dictate the match, and were able to add a second before the break when Marc Albrighton played a through-ball to Riyad Mahrez, who curled it into the top corner.

Cheikhou Kouyate had a chance to cut the gap just a couple of minutes before the interval, but his header finished high of the target.
