West Bromwich Albion will attempt to maintain their perfect start to the Championship season when they play host to Portsmouth on Saturday.
Meanwhile, John Mousinho's side will be looking to produce a positive response after falling to a narrow defeat in their recent meeting with Norwich City.
Match preview
After being appointed West Brom boss in the summer, Ryan Mason has made a promising start to his first full-time job in senior management, having kicked off his tenure with back-to-back league wins.
The Baggies claimed a 1-0 home victory over Blackburn Rovers on the opening day of the season, before they were beaten on penalties in their EFL Cup first-round tie against Derby County.
However, West Brom quickly put that disappointment behind them to return to winning ways in last Saturday's away clash against newly-promoted Wrexham.
Isaac Price netted a brace alongside a Jed Wallace effort to establish a 3-1 lead, and while Wrexham pulled a goal back deep into stoppage time, the Baggies ultimately did enough to claim maximum points at the Racecourse Ground.
As a result, they are sitting in third place and one of three teams with a 100% record in the Championship, along with Middlesbrough and Stoke City.
West Brom will be confident of extending that record on Saturday, considering that they have won six of their previous eight home league games against Portsmouth, including a dominant 5-1 victory in January.
Portsmouth will be looking to push on this term after finishing in 16th place in their first Championship campaign since 2011-12.
The South-coast side made a positive start to the new campaign, claiming a narrow 1-0 victory in their meeting with Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.
However, Pompey have failed to build upon that successful away trip, losing 2-1 to Reading in the EFL Cup before falling to the same scoreline in last Saturday's home clash with Norwich City.
Portsmouth conceded twice in the opening 15 minutes against the Canaries, before Adrian Segecic pulled a goal back just minutes after Colby Bishop's penalty miss.
However, Segecic's 84th-minute effort ultimately proved to be too little too late as Portsmouth slumped to just their third home league defeat of 2025.
Pompey will now be focusing on their upcoming game against West Brom, where they will attempt to claim their first league win over the Baggies since December 2005 and their first head-to-head away victory since February 1998.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 3-1 Portsmouth
