Tony Pulis disappointed with West Bromwich Albion defeat

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis describes his side's 1-0 defeat to Southampton as "disappointing" after their wait for a league win was stretched to seven games.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has described his side's 1-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton as "disappointing".

The Baggies looked to be on course for a point at St Mary's until a stunning solo effort from Sofiane Boufal saw the hosts rescue victory with just five minutes of normal time remaining.

Pulis was pleased with his side's second-half display, but admitted that he was expecting more from his players as they made it seven Premier League games without a win.

"The viewers will see it and think it's a wonderful goal. He's going past five players, one or two you'd hope would do better. It's disappointing," he told BBC Sport.

"Second half we changed it and had a lot more chances. We really had the best opportunity of the game - if we score there it's a different game.

"Second half our performance was much better and we made much more of a game of it."

The defeat sees West Brom drop a place to 13th in the Premier League table.
