West Brom's Tony Pulis: 'Saido Berahino not as fit or sharp as we want him to be'

Pulis: 'Berahino not as sharp as we want'

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has claimed that Saido Berahino has not yet reached the fitness levels required of him.

The England Under-21 international, who was reportedly wanted by Tottenham Hotspur, Stoke City and Newcastle United in the January transfer window, has struggled for goals this season.

The last time that Berahino found the back of the net was on October 17 in the Baggies' slender victory over Sunderland at The Hawthorns.

In Friday's press conference, Pulis said: "Saido's nowhere near as fit or sharp as we want him, it's going to take a bit of time but hopefully we can get him to good level."

West Brom will take on Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
