West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel has insisted that young forward Saido Berahino has a "great future".
The 20-year-old has forced his way into the Baggies' first team this season, scoring five goals in 29 appearances, including the winner in the 1-0 victory over West Ham United on Saturday.
"I spoke at great length with Berahino and he knew that he was going to play," Mel told reporters.
"I think that he's a player with an awful lot of talent and a great future ahead of him."
Berahino has earned five caps for the England Under-21s.
