Pepe Mel accepts dressing-room "fights" as long as West Brom win next game

West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel says that he has no problems with 'fighting' in the dressing room as long as the team continue to win.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel has admitted that he does not have a problem with "fights" between teammates as long as they go on to win their games.

The club's Premier League survival campaign was marred by an alleged physical altercation between James Morrison and Saido Berahino following a 3-3 draw with Cardiff City a fortnight ago.

However, a week later, the Baggies boosted their survival hopes by clinching a 1-0 win over Norwich City.

"The dressing room is very good," the Birmingham Mail quotes Mel as saying. "I don't mind if there are fights if in the following match we win.

"No, [I wouldn't encourage it] but it's something that's normal among players and young players who are ambitious. The most important thing is what happens on May 12. I'm certain West Bromwich Albion will still be in the Premier League on that date."

West Brom are five points above the drop in the table with six games left to play.
