Steve Clarke confirms Ben Foster's desire to return to England squad

Clarke confirms Foster's England desire

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has confirmed that goalkeeper Ben Foster will come out of England retirement.

The 29-year-old turned his back on the Three Lions in 2011, citing personal reasons and injury woes, but it had been reported that the shot-stopper was considering a return to fight Joe Hart for the England number one spot.

"He would like to play in a major tournament," BBC Sport quotes Clarke as saying.

Foster may be included in Roy Hodgson's side to face San Marino and Montenegro in England's World Cup qualifiers.
