Preview: West Bromwich Albion vs. Hull City

Sports Mole previews Hull City's trip to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

West Bromwich Albion will host Hull City in the third round of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday evening.

Alan Irvine's side head into the match on the back of their first victory in the Premier League this season, having beaten Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the weekend.

The Baggies needed a penalty shootout against League Two side Oxford United in the previous round of this competition to secure their place in round three.

The manager has indicated that Youssouf Mulumbu could come into the starting lineup having returned from injury in the trip to White Hart Lane.

Meanwhile, Hull are heading into the match without a win in their last four outings in the Premier League, with the only victory from their last six matches coming in the Europa League.

The Tigers, who reached the final of the FA Cup last season, let a two-goal lead slip at the weekend in their match against Newcastle United at St James' Park

Steve Bruce will be without midfielders Gaston Ramirez and Mohamed Diame, as they both featured for their previous clubs in the second round.

This will be the first time that these two clubs have met in the League Cup.
