New Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores hails predecessor Slavisa Jokanovic

New Watford head coach Quique Sanchez Flores has paid tribute to the man he has succeeded at the Hornets, Slavisa Jokanovic.

Jokanovic led Watford to the Premier League last season, but couldn't agree a new deal with the club this summer.

Former Atletico Madrid boss Flores held his first press conference today and was quick to praise the work of his predecessor.

"I say thanks to Jokanovic because he did an amazing job in the last year and he is the reason why we are in the Premier League," Flores said.

"I don't want to forget that, the fans should always remember he got them promotion. But football is football, a lot of things happen. We need to continue with the same spirit."

Watford begin their first Premier League season in eight years with a trip to Everton on August 8.
