Slavisa Jokanovic: 'It was not a penalty'

Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic feels that his side were hard done by when conceding a penalty which initiated their 3-0 defeat to Norwich City at Vicarage Road.

Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic feels that Norwich City should not have been awarded the penalty that kickstarted their 3-0 victory over his side at Vicarage Road.

The Canaries were handed the chance to break the deadlock in the Championship clash when Miguel Layun was adjudged to have fouled Wes Hoolahan in the box, and a spot kick was awarded much to the fury of the home team.

Lewis Grabban scored from 12 yards and notched another along with a strike from Cameron Jerome as Alex Neil's side earned the three points.

Jokanovic told Sky Sports News: "I believe it wasn't a penalty because people around me said it was a dive. Miguel also said he didn't touch the player. From my position I didn't get a clear view.

"Referees will sometimes make mistakes and make wrong decisions. But after the penalty they score a good goal from outside of the area and then we are trying something different.

"The problem is that in the last 25 minutes my team were lost on the field. We didn't show any reaction and Norwich scored another goal and could have had more. I go home feeling that we didn't finish the game with any plan, with any desire and not playing in the way I want. That is what disappoints me."

Watford are sixth in the Championship table, four points off the pace in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
