Saturday's Championship predictions including Watford vs. Millwall

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship fixtures, including Watford vs. Millwall.

Bournemouth vs. Brentford (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Bournemouth and Brentford square off on Saturday afternoon with both clubs looking to build some momentum ahead of the Championship playoffs.

While the Cherries are looking to extend a winning streak which has reached seven matches, the Bees are desperate to end a run of five draws in six games.

We say: Bournemouth 2-1 Brentford

With both teams realistically assured of a playoff spot, we may see a free-flowing game on the South coast. That should suit each team, but we still expect Bournemouth to show the greater cutting edge in the final third.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Barnsley vs. Rotherham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

There will be implications at both ends of the Championship table when Barnsley host Rotherham United in a South Yorkshire derby on Saturday.

The Tykes are on the verge of securing a spot in the playoffs, while the Millers are running out of games to avoid relegation.

We say: Barnsley 1-1 Rotherham United

With Barnsley almost certain of a place in the playoffs, this game arguably means more to Rotherham, and we expect the Millers to get a point at Oakwell; whether that will be enough to help avoid relegation is another matter, but it would at least stop their current losing streak and give them something to build on in the final four games.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Blackburn vs. Huddersfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Huddersfield Town go up against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon knowing that victory at Ewood Park could all-but-secure their Championship status for another 12 months.

Sitting just three points clear of the visitors, Rovers will be motivated to try to end the campaign on a high after a prolonged run of poor form during 2021.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Huddersfield Town

While Rovers have the extra freedom to push for maximum points, we do not anticipate the most entertaining of matches between these two clubs. A share of the spoils will arguably be deemed acceptable by both teams, potentially leading to a low-scoring draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Cardiff vs. Wycombe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wycombe Wanderers will attempt to keep their slim Championship survival hopes alive on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Cardiff City.

The Chairboys snatched a late win against Bristol City in midweek to just about stay alive, while Cardiff drew for a third match running and can no longer reach the playoffs.

We say: Cardiff City 2-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Twenty-four points may separate these sides in the table, but bottom side Wycombe enter Saturday's match in better form that their ninth-placed opponents.

However, the Chairboys have never won an away game against Cardiff in the Football League in four attempts, and we can see the Bluebirds getting back to winning ways here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Coventry vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Coventry City's Dominic Hyam celebrates scoring against Barnsley in the Championship on April 18, 2021© Reuters

An in-form Coventry City side will host Preston North End on Saturday afternoon, hoping to claim their fourth successive victory in the Championship.

The Sky Blues need just four more points to be sure of avoiding relegation, while a win for the visitors at St Andrews would ensure their status in the second tier for next season.

We say: Coventry City 1-1 Preston North End

Coventry failed to score in their previous three meetings against Preston but having found the net 10 times in their last five Championship fixtures, will fancy their chances of scoring on Saturday.

Both sides will be keen to finish the season strongly and although securing three points will be their target, we feel that a score draw could be on the cards.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Derby vs. Birmingham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Derby County play host to Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon looking to end a four-match losing streak which has moved the club closer to the Championship relegation zone.

In sharp contrast, Blues have put together a much-needed run of five games without defeat, leaving them on the brink of second-tier survival.

We say: Derby County 0-1 Birmingham City

Derby have shown on numerous occasions this season that they can raise their game for the big occasion. Nevertheless, Blues have been excellent in recent matches, and we feel that the visitors could edge this contest with a solitary goal.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Middlesbrough vs. Sheff Weds (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon, looking for a win to keep their hopes of Championship survival alive.

The Owls could be relegated to League One if they lose at the Riverside and if other results go against them, while the hosts have nothing to play for heading into the final three matches of the season.

We say: Middlesbrough 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday have far more riding on Saturday's fixture than Middlesbrough and that necessity to win could push the Owls over the line. Indeed, we feel that the visitors will keep their hopes of survival alive and claim all three points against an out-of-form Boro outfit.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Nott'm Forest vs. Stoke (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Nottingham Forest manager Chris Hughton pictured on January 23, 2021© Reuters

Nottingham Forest welcome Stoke City to the City Ground looking for the victory which will guarantee their Championship status for another 12 months.

Meanwhile, the Potters head into this encounter on the back of four games without success, leaving the club at risk of ending the campaign in the bottom half of the standings.

We say: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Stoke City

With both teams out of form, this contest is unlikely to develop into a classic. Nevertheless, Forest are performing better in the defensive third of the pitch, and they may have the quality at the other end to take advantage of Stoke's lack of confidence.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

QPR vs. Norwich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Norwich City will aim to take a step towards the Championship title when they travel to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The Canaries have lost both of their games since their promotion was confirmed and will be out to prove that they are not on the beaches of Norfolk just yet.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Norwich City

Norwich's last two defeats have come against the two in-form sides in the Championship, but we expect them to get back to winning ways on Saturday. QPR are ending the season in great form themselves and will be full of confidence after beating Swansea, though, so it will certainly be a tight game at Loftus Road.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Watford vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Watford's Ismaila Sarr celebrates scoring their second goal against Reading in the Championship on April 9, 2021© Reuters

Watford can clinch promotion back to the Premier League this weekend should they beat out-of-form Millwall at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets need just three more points to guarantee a top-two finish, while Millwall are now jostling for position in the top half.

We say: Watford 2-0 Millwall

Watford will know ahead of kickoff exactly what is required to earn promotion - one point or all three.

Either way, this is a game that we expect the Hornets to win against a Millwall side with little left to play for, which is reflected in their recent results.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
