Half-Time Report: Craig Westcarr cancels out Clayton Donaldson strike

Craig Westcarr hit a 45th-minute equaliser as Walsall have held League One leaders Brentford to a 1-1 half-time scoreline at the Bescot Stadium this afternoon.

The Bees, who can maintain their place at the top of England's third tier with a victory, needed 30 minutes to edge ahead in the contest.

Clayton Donaldson got on the end of a Jake Bidwell cross and smashed past goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell.

The strike looked good enough for Mark Warburton's men to boast a narrow advantage at the interval, only for Westcarr to pounce in the closing stages of the half to hold the high-flying Londoners to a half-time draw.
