Chris Coleman: 'Wales relishing pressure of all or nothing clash'

Wales boss Chris Coleman backs his players to handle the pressure when they face Northern Ireland in Saturday's Euro 2016 last-16 showdown in Paris.

Chris Coleman has described Saturday's Euro 2016 showdown with Northern Ireland as an "all or nothing" occasion for Wales, which he believes his side will head into totally focused.

The Red Dragons took six points from their games against Slovakia, England and Russia to progress through to the knockout stages as Group B winners.

Next up for Coleman and his men is another home nation clash, this time against the Green and White Army, with a place in the last eight of the competition up for grabs for the winning side.

Despite the pressure that comes with this historic fixture for both teams, Coleman insists that his players will relish the chance to show that they can handle being in the spotlight on the big stage.

"We can't afford to look past the next game and nor can Northern Ireland," he told reporters. "It's all or nothing on this game. We can take a lot of confidence from the last performance which was outstanding, but that was yesterday, so to speak. It's all about tomorrow.

"So we can't be thinking or talking about anything but this next challenge. That's all we've talked about. We've treated it like we have every other game - total focus on the opposition and who they are, but also on ourselves and what we're capable of.

"It will be about who handles the spotlight the best, who is capable of performing under that tension and pressure. We've been screaming for years we want that tension and pressure, so there are no complaints from us now that we're here."

Wales, who were without star players Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey on the night, played out a 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland in a Cardiff friendly three months ago.
