Villarreal close to Augusto Fernandez capture?

Villarreal are reportedly confident of concluding a deal for Celta Vigo attacker Augusto Fernandez.

The 28-year-old, who moved to Celta from Velez Sarsfield in 2012, is currently with the Argentina squad ahead of the World Cup this summer.

According to AS, Fernandez's form last season attracted the interest of the Yellow Submarine, who are expected to strengthen their squad significantly this summer.

The same report has claimed that an official approach has been made for the midfielder, who scored twice for Celta during the 2013-14 campaign.

A number of European clubs are also believed to be monitoring proceedings.
