Villarreal too good for Valencia

Villarreal score four against Valencia in a comfortable home win on Sunday.

High-flying Villarreal have beaten Valencia 4-1 in La Liga this afternoon.

Ikechukwu Uche had an early chance for the home side, but guided his header over. However, he managed to find the net for the opening goal with a right-footed shot from the edge of the area.

It was 2-0 to Villarreal not long after through Hernan Perez's header from Cani's cross.

Giovani dos Santos continued the home dominance with a third just after the break as he stroked in from close range.

However, Valencia found a way back into the match when Ricardo Costa nodded in.

Dorlan Pabon could have made it even more nervy for the home side but missed after being set up by Ever Banega.

However, Villarreal made sure of the points with six minutes remaining as Dos Santos grabbed his second of the match.
