Villarreal, Celta Vigo La Liga clash 'temporarily suspended'

The La Liga match between Villarreal and Celta Vigo at El Madrigal has been temporarily suspended due to an object being thrown onto the field of play.

The visitors led late on through Fabian Orellana's header, though with 86 minutes played, what looked to be a tear gas canister was launched into the Vigo goalmouth.

El Madrigal began to empty with supporters covering their faces, as the referee called both sets of players off the pitch to halt the contest.

It is not yet known whether play will resume tonight.
