Roberto Soldado hoping to rediscover scoring form

Villarreal striker Roberto Soldado hopes to find his scoring touch against his former club Real Madrid.

Villarreal striker Roberto Soldado has said that he hopes to provide more than just assists as his side host his former club Real Madrid tomorrow evening.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward has scored just two goals in La Liga since moving back to Spain in the summer, and Soldado admitted that he would like to contribute more than assists for the Yellow Submarines.

The 30-year-old told the club's website: "It's a special game because most of my career I trained there.

"I will always be eternally grateful to Real Madrid because it formed me as a person and a player. We will try to create problems in our own stadium and hopefully will see the best Villarreal have.

"I would much rather get the goals than give them but I am fine. Providing assists is not entirely my work, but anything that helps the team is fine. What I want is to score goals."

Soldado has scored four goals and created seven assists in 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season for Villarreal.
