Mauricio Pellegrino named Valencia boss

Valencia have confirmed Mauricio Pellegrino as the new boss of the La Liga outfit.

The 40-year-old has signed a two-year contract, and will replace outgoing boss Unai Emery at the end of the season.

A club statement read: "This afternoon, the Board of Directors ratified the agreement made last Friday which sees Mauricio Pellegrino become the new first-team coach of Valencia for the next two seasons."

Pellegrino spent six years at Valencia as a player.
