Luis Suarez disciplinary proceedings enter second day in Brazil

Suarez proceedings enter second day

The Uruguayan Football Association has confirmed that no decision has yet been made on disciplinary proceedings regarding Luis Suarez.

The 27-year-old striker, who is alleged to have bitten Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during Tuesday evening's Group D clash, is expected to face a lengthy ban if found guilty.

However, after FIFA failed to reach a decision last night, La Celeste are hopeful that a verdict will be reached as soon as possible in order to concentrate on Saturday's round-of-16 clash against Colombia, according to The Mirror.

The same report also claims that Uruguayan officials are confident that Suarez's ban will extend to just four games, although that would signal the end of his World Cup campaign.

President of the South American nation's FA, Wilmar Valdez, said: "We know they met for a long time but we don't know if that means a good or a bad situation. They will continue in the morning."

Suarez has been found guilty of identical incidents on two separate occasions in the past.
