Uruguay's Luis Suarez could face FIFA action for alleged punch

Suarez could face FIFA action

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez could be punished by FIFA for allegedly punching Chile defender Gonzalo Jara during his nation's World Cup qualifier.

The Liverpool frontman appeared to make contact with Jara's face while tussling in the penalty area during Uruguay's 2-0 defeat to Chile.

While the referee booked the 26-year-old for protesting later in the game, the alleged incident was not picked up by the match officials during the encounter.

FIFA could take retrospective action against the Reds forward, who is already suspended for Uruguay's next qualifying match against Venezuela.
