Report: Atletico target Simeone Scuffet

Atletico Madrid are reportedly close to signing Udinese goalkeeper Simeone Scuffet, who has been described as the 'next Gianluigi Buffon'.

The 18-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the best young stoppers in European football, has been strongly linked with a move away from Italy this summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Atletico are close to completing a deal for the teenager, who will be sent on loan to Granada next season to gain valuable La Liga experience.

Atletico have already signed goalkeeper Miguel Moya from Getafe this summer, but are still in the market for a new number one, with Thibaut Courtois returning to parent club Chelsea.
