Besiktas cancel Guti's contract

Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti has reportedly had his contract with Turkish club Besiktas cancelled, according to Lig TV.

The 35-year-old was said to have been disappointed at being omitted from the starting lineup for a recent league fixture.

During the ongoing international break, Guti returned to Spain with his club's permission.

However, he failed to report back for a training session in Istanbul today, prompting Besiktas to end his tenure with the Black Eagles.

Guti joined the club in 2010 following his release from Madrid.
