"I am happy that I can start working for PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie next season. The club has stood for attractive, attacking football for years and certainly showed that last season," Druijf told the club's official website.

"In addition, it is always full here and everyone is really looking forward to returning to the Eredivisie. The same applies to me and I am therefore looking forward to the first home game."

Manager Marcel Boudesteyn added: "Ferdy is a big, strong striker with a lot of movement and depth. He is a type of attacker who is dragging for 90 minutes and therefore has great running ability.

"Ferdy is strong through the air, but also over the ground and is known as a good finisher. I am therefore very happy that we have him here this season."
