Moore delighted with table-topping Tranmere

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore his hailed his team after they reclaimed the top spot in League One with a 2-0 win at Hartlepool United.

An Andy Robinson penalty and a late Cole Stockton strike secured all three points for the Whites, moving them two points clear of Sheffield United.

Moore told the club's official website: "I think a lot of people thought this was a game we could slip up on, we never.

"We knew that a draw would take us top and that a win would take us three points clear which is fantastic for us."

The Rovers coach went on to say that Stockton could could partner top scorer Jake Cassidy up front in future games following his performance tonight.

"It was a fantastic finish [from Cole]. I've said him and Cassidy can't play together because they're too similar but he might have proved me wrong there," he added.

"He could have had another one where it has just gone past the corner and their lad has had a touch."

Tranmere are back in League One action this Saturday when they visit Oldham Athletic.
