Toronto FC 2-1 Colorado Rapids

Struggling Toronto FC have picked up an important win in the MLS with a 2-1 victory over Colorado Rapids at the BMO Field.

The game got off to an explosive start as the hosts were awarded a penalty after only two minutes when Luis Silva was fouled by Matt Pickens. However, Ryan Johnson smashed his spot kick against the woodwork to keep the score level.

The miss looked costly in the 23rd minute when Conor Casey headed in Hunter Freeman's cross to put Colorado ahead.

Johnson made amends for his earlier error when he found the bottom corner five minutes after half time to make it all square.

The win was sealed with just over 20 minutes to play as Andrew Wiedeman struck to give Toronto their third consecutive triumph.
