Torino vs. Hellas Verona - prediction, team news, lineups

Torino play host to Hellas Verona on Wednesday afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten record in Serie A to four matches.

While the home side sit just outside of the relegation zone, Verona are in eighth spot after ending their three-game winless streak at the weekend.

Match preview

With Andrea Belotti finding the net on a regular basis, Torino should not find themselves competing at the wrong end of the Serie A table.

However, it has taken the last three matches for Marco Giampaolo's side to start showing their true capabilities, leading to a move outside of the relegation zone.

Five points have been collected from games against Bologna, Napoli and Parma, the latest game ending in a 3-0 scoreline without Belotti being required to get on the scoresheet.

The club's star man chipped in with two assists, but the result was proof that they do not have to rely on their prolific talisman in the final third.

With the games coming thick and fast, Giampaolo will hope that his team can maintain the momentum which has been generated either side of the Christmas break.

From Verona's perspective, they required the brief rest period to take stock of claiming just one point from a possible nine.

Although only losing out to Inter Milan by a 2-1 scoreline, there would have been concerns about another setback coming at lowly Spezia.

Ivan Juric's side did not have it all their own way during Sunday's fixture, but a late dismissal played its part in Mattia Zaccagni scoring a decisive goal during the closing stages.

With Crotone to follow on Sunday, Juric will feel that there is a window of opportunity to move into the top six by the end of the week.

Team News

Barring any late fitness issues, Giampaolo may opt against making any alterations to his Torino XI.

However, Amer Gojak contributed a goal and an assist during his 20-minute outing as a substitute against Parma, putting him in contention for a recall to the team.

Nikola Kalinic was a surprise starter for Verona at the weekend after injury, and it could lead to the Croatian not being risked on Wednesday.

Ebrima Colley is in line to come into the attack if Juric drops his main frontman to the substitutes' bench.

Torino possible starting lineup: Sirigu; Izzo, Lyanco, Bremer; Singo, Lukic, Rincon, Linetty, Rodriguez; Belotti, Verdi

Hellas Verona possible starting lineup: Silvestri; Dawidowicz, Magnani, Dimarco; Faraoni, Tameze, Veloso, Lazovic; Barak, Zaccagni; Colley

We say: Torino 1-1 Hellas Verona

Given their recent improvement, Torino may be torn between approaches for this contest. With that in mind, we think that a low-scoring draw could be played out as Verona look to keep things ticking over further up the table.
