Paulo Di Canio says he is anticipating a tight Euro 2012 final between Italy and Spain, insisting that neither side can afford to make a mistake.

Paulo Di Canio has admitted that it will be difficult for Italy to overcome Spain in tonight's Euro 2012 final.

The former striker has been impressed with Italy in the tournament so far but insists that they can not afford any slip ups against the Spanish.

"It's obvious that at this moment in the final it is crucial not to make any mistakes.", Di Canio told Sky Sports News.

"We've seen already how Italy reached the final with good play in midfield with Pirlo, but determination and courage is key.

"The rest of the players are not at a great level but the fact that they play as a team has got them to the final. Spain are the favourites and play very attractive football but if we frustrate them for the first half an hour then we have players like Balotelli and Cassano that can hurt them.

"Obviously to say it is easy but in reality it will be more difficult."

The Swindon Town manager never earned a full cap for the Azzurri, playing just nine times and scoring two goals for the Under 21 side.
