Ki Sung-yueng wants to stay at Swansea City despite West Ham United interest

Ki Sung-yueng confirms that he wants to stay at Swansea City, despite being linked to West Ham United.

Ki Sung-yueng has revealed that he has no intention of leaving Swansea City in this window.

The South Korean international, who joined the Welsh outfit from Celtic in 2012, comes to the end of his current contract at the Liberty Stadium this summer.

Widespread reports have claimed that the midfielder was on West Ham United's radar, but following Swansea's 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Tuesday night, the 29-year-old confirmed plans to stay put.

"I want to be here and if Swansea want me to stay here, then I can help this team stay in the Premier League," Sky Sports News quotes Ki as saying. "It is a difficult time but I don't think I am going to leave. I don't need to move.

"I don't think West Ham are better than us. We are fighting with them to avoid relegation, so I think I want to play with my teammates. I want to stay in the league at Swansea and I think me playing in [the Arsenal] game means I will stay."

Swansea sit one place above the relegation zone on goal difference.
