Swansea City announce that defender Angel Rangel will leave the Liberty Stadium this summer, ending an 11-year spell at the club.

Angel Rangel has revealed that he has "mixed feelings" over his 11-year stay at Swansea City coming to an end.

The Welsh outfit have announced that they will not renew the right-back's contract, with the Spaniard making a total of 373 appearances at the club.

Rangel has acknowledged that he is proud of his time with the Swans, but admits that it will be strange to part ways with a team that he joined in 2007.

The 35-year-old told the club's official website: "My feelings are mixed. I am very proud to have played for 11 seasons for the club who gave me the opportunity to become a professional footballer and who made my dream of playing in the Premier League come true.

"I came here as a 24-year-old when the club were in League One. Eleven years later, I have played more in the Premier League than in all the other divisions. That gives me a lot of pride and happiness, but also there is sadness because you don't think this day will ever come.

"The years go by so fast and you don't realise it is a very short career."

During his time at Swansea, Rangel has won the League One title, Championship playoffs and the EFL Cup.
