Tammy Abraham at the double as Swansea City climb out of dropzone

Abraham brace helps Swans escape dropzone

A brace from Tammy Abraham has helped Swansea City to secure a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town and escape the Premier League dropzone in the process.

Paul Clement's side, who started the afternoon in 18th place in the table, were on course for their first home win of the campaign when the Chelsea loanee fired them in front minutes before half time.

Huddersfield played a part in their own downfall as an error from goalkeeper Jonas Lossl allowed Tom Carroll to carve out space for himself in the box before squaring a pass to Abraham, allowing the striker to fire the hosts in front in the 41st minute.

David Wagner's side were dominant for large spells, but they came undone again shortly after the break when Jordan Ayew chipped the ball over Lossl, allowing Abraham to race clear and guide the ball into an empty net.

The result sees the Swans climb to 13th place, while Huddersfield, now winless in six matches, remain in 11th.
