Ashley Williams hails "massive" win over Watford

Swansea captain Ashley Williams describes his side's win over Watford as "massive" after scoring the only goal of the game to lift them out of the bottom three.

Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has talked up the importance of his side's 1-0 victory over Watford this evening.

Williams got the only goal of the game at the Liberty Stadium to hand Swansea only their third victory since August, lifting them out of the relegation zone in the process.

It was his first goal at the Liberty Stadium for five years, and he admitted that he had begun to 'give up hope' of netting in front of his own fans again.

"It was massive for us, all the games are big for us now and we need to be picking up the points to move up the table," he told Sky Sports News.

"I was giving up hope going up on corners but I am just pleased to pop up with a goal and help the team get three points today."

Swansea were watched by new head coach Francesco Guidolin, who will take over his duties at the club this week.
