Swansea City's James Demetriou fined by FA for betting breaches

The Football Association has fined Swansea City's James Demetriou £700 and "severely warned" him after he broke the organisation's betting rules.

The 19-year-old admitted breaching the FA's rule E8 on multiple occasions during a period between December 2013 and January 2015.

Demetriou is a Cyprus Under-21 international who joined Swansea from Nottingham Forest last summer.

Ipswich Town's Teddy Bishop was also fined for a similar offence earlier this month.
