Gylfi Sigurdsson's Swansea deal on hold

Sigurdsson's Swansea deal on hold

Gylfi Sigurdsson's potential move to Swansea City has been put on hold by the midfielder's parent club Hoffenheim.

The Icelandic international is currently on loan at the Liberty Stadium but has admitted that he is keen to stay permanently after settling quickly into Brendan Rodgers side.

However, Hoffenheim sporting director Ernst Tanner has hinted that any talks of a transfer will be postponed until the summer.

"Gylfi has again made the headlines last weekend with his two goals for Swansea against Fulham, but this is the wrong time of the season to talk about this," he said.

Sigurdsson has scored five goals in nine league appearances for the Swans since joining from Germany in January.
