Swansea City boss Garry Monk elated with historic victory over Manchester United

Swansea City boss Garry Monk reveals his elation as his side come from behind to defeat Manchester United and secure their first ever league double over the Red Devils.

Swansea City boss Garry Monk expressed his delight with his side as they recorded a league double over Manchester United for the first time in the club's history.

The Swans backed up their efforts from the opening day of the season as they came from behind to beat the Red Devils 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon, thanks to goals from Ki Sung-yueng and Bafetimbi Gomis.

Monk told BBC Sport: "I don't know if today is better than the win at Old Trafford - it's quite even. It was a great result - what a fantastic day. The team have done tremendously well against a side like Manchester United.

"To take six points off Manchester United for the first time in the club's history is a great achievement. To make history for this club is fantastic for this team to be remembered and it is no mean feat."

Monk's side are ninth in the Premier League following their victory over United, who drop to fourth in the table.
