Swansea City's Bafetimbi Gomis elated to be back on the scoresheet

Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis admits that he is elated to be back scoring goals after a difficult start to life in the Premier League.

Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis has revealed his relief at finding his form in the Premier League after a difficult start to the season.

The Frenchman netted a brace to fire Garry Monk's men to a 3-1 victory over Hull City on Saturday as he took his tally to five goals in the top flight in the campaign.

Gomis has admitted that he has been grateful to the backing he has received from his teammates and the club's supporters after his underwhelming start to the season.

He told the club's official website: "I had a difficult first half of the season because I didn't play much. I've had lots of difficult times, but I'm thankful to everyone at the club, the supporters and my teammates for their support.

"I'm working hard in training and I'm getting my confidence back. I'm very happy to get on the scoresheet again.

"I don't have a goals target for this season. I just want to score as many goals as possible to help Swansea finish the season as high in the league as we can and break the record of 47 points."

Swansea are eighth in the Premier League, with 46 points from their 31 matches.
