Alan Curtis still in charge of Swansea City for West Ham United visit

Curtis still in charge for West Ham visit

Swansea City have confirmed that caretaker manager Alan Curtis will remain in charge for Sunday's Premier League visit of West Ham United.

Club chairman Huw Jenkins has reportedly been in South Africa trying to finalise a deal for a new boss after last week's sacking of Garry Monk, but he is yet to find the latter's replacement.

Former Athletic Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa is one of the names strongly linked with the post and he could yet take over, but Curtis will still be in the dugout in two days' time.

"We have been working tirelessly and diligently to fill the managerial void," Jenkins told the club website. "But the important thing is that we find the right person to complement our set-up.

"We would all like the appointment to happen sooner rather than later, but we will not rush into anything.

"If it takes us a little longer than expected then I'm sure it will be to the long-term benefit of this football club."

Swansea have won just one of their last 12 Premier League games and are just above the bottom three in 17th place.
