Sunderland keen on Lee Cattermole deal

Sunderland are understood to be keen to offer captain Lee Cattermole a new long-term deal with the club.

The midfielder is in the final year of his current contract following a move from Wigan Athletic in 2009.

The Black Cats now hope that the 24-year-old will commit his future to the Stadium of Light, according to the Daily Mail.

Cattermole started his career at Middlesbrough before he moved to Wigan in 2008.
