Sunderland are reportedly considering a move for Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman.

According to The Chronicle, Sunderland have switched focus to De Guzman after their move for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer collapsed.

The Netherlands international, who spent two loan spells at Swansea City when owned by Villarreal, was last week believed to be on the verge of signing for Marseille, but the transfer reportedly plunged into doubt when Marcelo Bielsa left as head coach.
