Sunderland close in on Aly Cissokho?

Sunderland have reportedly edged closer to signing Valencia defender Aly Cissokho.

The 25-year-old Frenchman had been heavily linked with a switch to Liverpool before the Merseysiders cooled their interest.

The Black Cats have now agreed personal terms with the full-back as the deal nears its conclusion, according to Sky Sports News.

Cissokho joined Valencia from Lyon last summer on a four-year deal.
