Carlos Cuellar pleased to get off and running at Sunderland

Sunderland defender Carlos Cuellar has expressed his happiness in completing his debut with the Black Cats during a pre-season clash.

The Spaniard, who signed a two-year deal with the North East club after being released by Aston Villa at the end of the season, completed 30 minutes with the Premier League outfit during their 1-0 defeat to Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma in the Peace Cup.

Cuellar wrote on Twitter: "Happy with my first 30 minute with the Sunderland shirt but disappointed with the result, it was our first game we've get time to get fit."

Sunderland take on Arsenal on the opening day of the 2012-13 season.
