Mark Hughes "not aware" of Aston Villa's Wilson Palacios interest

Mark Hughes has insisted that he is not aware of interest from Aston Villa for Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios.

The Honduras international has been linked with a move away from the Britannia Stadium this summer, having struggled to find a regular place in the team since Hughes's appointment.

The manager told Goal.com: "I'm not aware of that interest. He had an opportunity to go to Qatar which would have been good for him but that fell through.

"We like him as a person and a player but sometimes it's right to move on. Interest from other Premier League clubs is not something I'm aware of."

Stoke play Hull City tomorrow afternoon.
