Stoke City manager Tony Pulis names an unchanged team for today's Premier League clash with Sunderland, who welcome Lee Cattermole back from suspension.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has named an unchanged team for today's Premier League clash with Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium.

Glenn Whelan failed a late fitness test on his hamstring, meaning that Dean Whitehead and Steven Nzonzi continue in the centre of midfield following last weekend's 4-2 defeat to Manchester United.

Michael Owen is once again among the substitutes.

Meanwhile, Martin O'Neill makes just one change. Lee Cattermole returns from suspension for the Black Cats and replaces Stephane Sessegnon, who drops to the bench.

Stoke: Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson, Walters, Whitehead, Nzonzi, Adam, Kightly, Crouch
Subs: Sorensen, Jones, Owen, Upson, Etherington, Wilkinson, Palacios

Sunderland: Mignolet, Gardner, Rose, Cuellar, O'Shea, Cattermole, Colback, Larsson, Johnson, McClean, Fletcher
Subs: Bardsley, Campbell, Kilgallon, Vaughan, Saha, Sessegnon, Westwood
