Tony Pulis 'not a genius' after substitution benefits

Pulis 'not a genius'

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has insisted that he shouldn't take all the credit for bringing on Cameron Jerome.

Pulis brought the striker off the bench on Tuesday night, and watched as Jerome went on to score the equaliser in the club's 1-1 draw with Everton.

However, Pulis believes that he isn't the sole reason for the draw and that his side were feeling tired after a long season.

"I'm not a genius," admitted Pulis. "Sometimes it works for you, sometimes it doesn't.

"Cameron is an impact player when the game is stretched, with his pace and power. He's a great lad.

"They looked - one or two - a bit leggy. Crouch, who has been fantastic, looked a bit leggy."

The point moves Stoke to 13th in the table while Everton remain in seventh place.
