Marc Muniesa has insisted that he never had any doubts about whether he would prove to be a success with Stoke City.
The Spaniard, who arrived from Barcelona in 2013, has equalled his longest run in the Potters defence by starting the first four games of the Premier League campaign.
Despite often being left on the fringes of the side in his two years at the Britannia Stadium, Muniesa is certain that his decision to sign a new four-year contract in the summer will be vindicated.
"It was an easy decision for me to stay at Stoke for a long time. Since the first day they wanted to speak to me I wanted to sign," the 23-year-old is quoted as saying by the Stoke Sentinel.
"They have shown a great confidence in me, and it was easy for me to repay that. This is the right place for me.
"This is a big season for me. I want to play every week. I have been doing well, playing a lot of minutes and I am feeling stronger and better. I want that to continue."
Muniesa has started alongside Geoff Cameron in the centre of defence in every league game so far this season.
