Huth loses red card appeal

Stoke City have lost their appeal against the red card that Robert Huth received on Saturday afternoon.

The German defender was handed his marching orders by referee Martin Atkinson for a foul that he committed on Sunderland midfielder David Meyler.

Boss Tony Pulis was disappointed with the decision and insisted at the time that he would be challenging the verdict.

However, the Football Association have decided that Huth's actions warranted a red card and have banned him for three matches.

He will now miss Premier League matches against Fulham and Swansea City, as well as the FA Cup tie with Crawley Town.
